Minneapolis, Minnesota — May 28, 2025
The Minnesota Responsible AI Institute (MNRAI) is pleased to announce its participation in a United Nations side event at Open Source Week 2025, taking place June 16–20 in New York City.
Selected through an open call for proposals, the Institute will present on Friday, June 20, as part of a community-driven series hosted by Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) and OpenForum Europe (OFE). This event will explore how open source contributes to global digital cooperation, AI governance, and sustainability initiatives, including the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Global Digital Compact.
The Minnesota Responsible AI Institute’s presentation will focus on modernizing workforce development through Responsible AI career pathways that integrate sustainability and economic success. As AI reshapes industries, our work ensures that organizations can embed Responsible AI fluency into hiring practices, job evolution, and workforce strategies—linking career pathways to sustainability considerations.
Our participation in UN Open Source Week 2025 reinforces the Institute’s commitment to fostering AI workforce strategies that are ethical, sustainable, and scalable. As part of this event, we look forward to engaging with policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to refine and expand our methodologies globally.
If you are attending Open Source Week in New York, we invite you to join the discussion and share insights on workforce innovation in AI. Registration is required to access the side event venues.
